My overall goal is to become a trusted team member that my clients can rely on for responsive attention, communication and legal advice. In order to establish such a relationship, with each client I try to understand their goals and the reasons underlying those goals. Through collaboration, we develop a plan of action that will be adjusted and refined as the deal takes shape, the interests of the other parties become known and different objectives are prioritized – all with the aim of closing the transaction successfully.
- My practice focuses on financing (institutional and private equity), equity investments and mergers and acquisitions, across a number of industries, including:
- media/entertainment
- natural resources
- automobile manufacturing
- software/technology
- healthcare
- food/beverage
- biotechnology
My clients care about receiving sophisticated legal advice that is responsive, personalized (but objective) and cost-effective. My clients demand excellence, ownership and a solution-oriented approach. Whether in lending or M&A, clients want to maintain a positive relationship with the counterparty to the deal, and, thus a win-win approach is crucial to my clients.
You have a team member in your corner that is trained and experienced with identifying and navigating the legal risks and exposure that may not be readily apparent or immediately foreseeable in a transaction. The information that I can provide, whether it relates to the structuring of the transaction, how to document deal terms and what is or is not “market”, can help my clients make informed decisions.
I enjoy the fact that each deal or transaction that I work on is unique and represents different opportunities to solve complex legal issues in a creative manner. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about the businesses that they have created, invested in or otherwise have a stake in.
