Marty represents financial institutions, owners and developers in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions. Marty’s practice emphasizes representing both lenders and borrowers nationwide in commercial real estate finance matters, including senior, mezzanine and CMBS loans, credit enhancement, bond purchases, affordable housing facilities and workouts involving all property types. Marty has particular expertise representing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily borrowers and lenders. He also represents clients in all aspects of acquiring and disposing of commercial and multifamily properties.
Marty has extensive experience advising clients with respect to real property ownership structures, and forming and administering related entities in California, Delaware and other jurisdictions. These structures include traditional equity and “bankruptcy-remote” special-purpose entities, as well as joint ventures, preferred equity, business and succession planning, and recapitalizations. Marty also counsels clients regarding co-tenancy, property management, and asset management issues.
Before joining Nevers Palazzo, Marty practiced with Allen Matkins and Troutman Pepper Locke in Los Angeles.
